Rate Compass Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

Rate Compass may collect the information you choose to provide while using the app, including:

• Account information such as your email address for sign-in and account access.
• Optional profile and planning information, such as mortgage balances, GIC balances, renewal dates, maturity dates, quoted rates, and alert preferences.
• Subscription status information needed to unlock Core or Plus features.
• Basic technical information needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the app.

Information We Do Not Collect

Rate Compass does not ask for bank login credentials, account numbers, credit card numbers, social insurance numbers, credit bureau information, contacts, or precise location data.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide the app's features, including sign-in, cloud saving, quote checks, renewal and maturity tracking, subscription access, and account support. Rate Compass is designed for educational and planning purposes and does not provide financial advice.

Cloud Saving and Security

Rate Compass uses Supabase for secure account access and protected per-user cloud records. Passwords are handled by Supabase authentication and are not stored by Rate Compass. Data is transmitted using secure connections. Access controls are used so each signed-in user can access only their own saved app data.

Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions and payments are managed by Apple through the App Store. Rate Compass receives subscription status information so the app can unlock the correct plan. Rate Compass does not receive or store your full payment card details.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Rate Compass may use your saved preferences to remind you about rate-related items, renewals, maturities, or app features. You can control notifications in the app and in your device settings.

Sharing Information

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate the app, such as Supabase for authentication and cloud storage and Apple for subscriptions and App Store services. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Account Deletion and Retention

You can request account deletion in the app. Deleting your Rate Compass account removes your app account data from the Rate Compass cloud records, subject to reasonable backup, security, and legal retention requirements. Deleting your app account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; subscriptions must be managed through your Apple ID or App Store subscription settings.

Children's Privacy

Rate Compass is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the app changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
